Senior-level global leadership role that creates the strategy and leads the execution of enterprise-wide global digital communications approach as a Center of Excellence (COE) to support the company’s Communications Strategic Objectives. This responsibility includes enterprise-wide digital governance, CSL and CSL Behring websites, social media channels (both external and internal), digital asset management, visuals (photography, infographics, graphics, etc.), iNet/cNet, mobile and emerging new media channels.

The incumbent leads a competency-based team, including direct reports, functional reports and digital super users, to effectively disseminate content and strategies in digital channels toward achieving specific business outcomes. The incumbent is accountable for driving the transformation toward greater use of digital channels and improved stakeholder experience. Enables digital transformation adoption by educating and coaching communications colleagues and business partners on incorporating innovative digital strategies usage for achieving their target outcomes.

As a member of the Global Communications Leadership Team (GCLT), the incumbent actively seeks collaboration, especially other members of the GCLT and especially the Head of Global Content, to focus, coordinate and leverage as a significant strategic contributor of one integrated global communications function.

Internal Advocacy & Knowledge Sharing:
• Creates and executes in collaboration with others a comprehensive digital communications strategy as part of the company’s Communications Strategic Objectives and to effectively leverage content in digital channels in achieving specific business outcomes.
Serves as primary global Communications interface with IT. Works closely with Global Communications Leadership Team, other Communications colleagues, and other key functions.
Drives digital communications efforts by acting as an advocate for integration of all digital initiatives, including social media.
Provides training for global communications team and select business partners on incorporating digital communications/social media techniques into their work and into the corporate culture.
Serves as primary global Communications interface with IT. Works closely with Global Communications Leadership Team, other Communications colleagues, and other key functions.
Content Facilitation:
Responsible for developing and executing digital communications strategy – including CSL and CSL Behring websites, social media, digital asset management, visuals (photography, infographics, graphics.) and emerging new media channels
Partners with Head of Global Content to develop Content Management System as the centerpiece for disseminating content to ensure continuous and optimized presence on digital platforms and company internet/ intranet (i.e., blogs, tweets, videos, RSS feeds, podcasts, etc.)
Selects appropriate social media channels to maximize content delivery.
Online Presence Management:
Drives and tracks company’s social media presence across relevant sites and platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, company blog, etc.)
-Manages online presence by tracking and listening to users, reading discussion forums, and coordinating with company experts and communications partners on appropriate responses.
Drives Engagement & Participation:
Leads efforts to build online communities, capture and engage audiences, coordinates campaigns and targets online outreach programs to key stakeholders
Leverages networks to build affinity for CSL among external and internal stakeholders
Monitors online feedback and feeds it back to internal teams for consideration in future content creation and messaging
Integrates digital platforms, intranet and other tools to make it easy for employees to connect with relevant content and people across the organization
Applies new digital tools and applications to increase the use base and engagement.
Monitoring & Measurement:
Keeps up to date with new and emerging digital methods and trends, including better leveraging social media usage
Tracks on which digital channels are key stakeholders active and leverages it for future strategies
Identifies and monitors effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of digital programs
Analyzes, reviews and reports on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results

Channel Management – Has a thorough understanding of existing and emerging communications channels and can drive business outcomes through appropriate channel selection. Can coach others on appropriate selection of channels, depending on audience and desired outcomes.
Purposeful Writing – Demonstrates in-depth understanding of target audience, highly effective writing style and expertise in high-impact messaging to wider and more strategic audience. Develops messages and creates content that stimulates stakeholder action
Audience Understanding – Can identify and use stakeholder-appropriate listening “system”. Uses in-depth knowledge of key audience values to achieve communications goals such as engagement and active support.
Interpersonal Influence – Proven experience in effectively communicating with senior leaders and external influencers/thought leaders to win support for programs. Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively.
Communications Measurement – Translates complex data into smartly contextualized conclusions and reports. Effectively communicates metrics and progress to target audiences. Leads efforts to documents and articulate business ROI for digital communications, including social media presence and engagement
Experience:
10+ years of progressive experience in private sector and/or government external communications is mandatory. Progressive digital communications/Social Media experience of 8-plus years is required. Pharmaceutical or applied Science experience of 5-plus years is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in successfully working in a matrixed organization is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, technology, journalism or closely related field that develops written, verbal and communications skills. Advanced, progressive professional development training is ideal.
