The Daily Meal is searching for a self-starting, fast-working editor/writer with a solid culinary background and experience in creating and editing recipes. This editor will report directly to the Cook Channel editor and assist him/her in every aspect of creating and curating content for the channel.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing, editing, and producing a total of 25 pieces of content per week, including recipes, stories, and slideshows
  • Updating and overseeing the Best Recipes pages and recipe data base as needed
  • Programming the Best Recipes page, Recipe of the Day feature, and Recipe of the Day newsletter
  • Assisting the Cook Channel editor with special projects as needed
  • Helping to manage the channel story calendar
  • Recruiting and managing full-content RSS feeds pertinent to the channel
  • Assigning, editing, and managing freelance recipe contributors
  • Working with the social and audience development teams to help promochannel content
  • Working with the photo editor to maintain high quality of images and overall look of the channel

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Culinary school and/or professional restaurant experience
  • Experience in writing and editing for online media
