Accommodations Coordinator – Lowe's spring hire – Mooresville, NC

The Accommodations Coordinator is responsible for reviewing and approving all CSC and field requests for employment terminations while employees are on any form of a Leave of Absence. This role is also primarily responsible for the resolution of leave and accommodation date discrepancies via reporting and provides appropriate feedback to vendors and HR partners to make the necessary updates. The Accommodations Coordinator primarily responsible for responding to all Leave and Accommodation inquiries made to the Employee Relations Central Services department. He/she will collaborate directly with HR Shared Services Field HR, Legal, Store Management, Distribution Management and vendors in order to assist in the resolution of employee leaves and accommodation inquiries and discrepancies.

Essential Responsibilities: Process Termination Requests • Review, evaluate and process determinations for all employment termination requests submitted for employees who have had any form of Leave of Absence. • Process immediate pay state terminations based upon State guidelines. • Collaborate with Accommodation Specialists, Managers and Director as needed to mitigate risk. • Educates Field HR on unsupported termination requests.

  • Work closely with Employee Relations, Accommodations leadership and legal as needed to substantiate termination decisions. Leave Management System Access • Evaluate and process all field requests for leave management system (LMS) access. • Setup and maintain specific LMS access, based upon job codes and security level access requirements. • Organize and maintain peer relationship functions.
  • Train Field HR on peer relationship functions. Custom and Standardized Reporting • Provide reporting for the Leaves and Accommodations department related to be not limited to: Monthly AdHoc Reports, Bi-Weekly Federal Reporting, Weekly/Monthly Workers’ Compensation Reports, and Weekly Production Reports. Interact with Operations, Legal, Vendors and other departments regarding leaves and accommodations and other company processes. • Schedule, execute and manage the Store EMS and DC Email Communication tasks for Monthly report submissions for all leave of absence discrepancies between the Leave Management System and HR Systems.
  • Educate Field HR on the leave of absence and accommodation process related to updating HR Systems. • Meet weekly with multiple vendors to review and resolve report discrepancies. Inbound / Outbound Calls, Emails and RSS Feeds • Gathers data and information related to employee leave and accommodations. • Manage two departmental email boxes and respond to inquiries.
  • Respond timely and accurately to Accommodations Departmental Connections posts. • Research systems leave management system and all HR Systems to provide appropriate response and follow up. • Educates employees and Field HR on leaves and accommodation processes. • Documents notes and results for follow up and summary.
  • Respond to access and set up requests in the Leave Management system. • Respond timely to calls and emails received from Employees, Field HR, Corporate HR partners and Leadership. Assist with Projects as needed • Assist with other Employee Relations Central Services Leaves and Accommodations projects and assignments as needed • Participate in employee communication activities Facilitate Training and Presentations • Conduct Employee Relations Central Services Leaves and Accommodations training and awareness sessions, such as training workshops, webinars, and group presentations Required Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field • 2 years of experience gathering data and information related to workplace or employment-related investigations including identifying issues, maintaining confidential integrity, and analyzing information for issue resolution • 2 years of experience required with Microsoft office software suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications: • 2+ years of experience with Human Resources, Employee Relations, or Labor Relations • PHR certification • In-depth working knowledge of the FMLA and the ADA • Bi-lingual in Spanish About Lowe’s Lowe’s Companies, Inc.
