Canon US Life Sciences is currently seeking an Associate Scientist to assist the senior scientific staff of the R&D division in the development and testing of molecular diagnostic systems.
Assist Scientists and Sr. Scientists in the development and testing of molecular diagnostic systems.
Maintain lab equipment, execute and write experimental protocols, assist with experimental design and data analysis to evaluate molecular diagnostic instruments and assays.
Execute experimental studies with technical excellence.
Perform molecular and biological testing techniques used for the research and development of diagnostic instruments, including PCR, HRMA, cloning, DNA sequencing, human blood processing, bacterial processing, media preparations, analyzing data, and documentation of test results.
Maintain impeccable records from raw data including data books and computer generated data files, quantitative analysis of data, laboratory protocols, and summary reports.
Assist with equipment and supply purchasing.
Present data to technical teams.
Education required: Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant scientific field
0-2 years bench-level scientific research required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Excellent teamwork skills
Required to handle biological materials, infectious agents and biological wastes. Occasionally may be required to work with hazardous chemicals.
