Position Overview:

Canon U.S.A., Inc. seeks a successful Channel Sales Manager to grow the Western Region independent dealer channel. Located in the West Region , support channel Dealer partners for business imaging products to include MFPs, printers, scanners, large format, production print, etc. This position requires a 4 year college degree and the ability to travel 75% (average 3-4 nights per week) in the assigned territory of the Western United States.

The Channel Sales Manager manages the business relationship between Canon, Dealer Management and Canon Management. Responsible for managing sales in an assigned region whose purpose is to facilitate wholesale dealer sales to specific channels of distribution. The Channel Sales Manager has functional responsibility for sales operations, revenue generation, budget and quota attainment, program development and implementation, and expense management for an assigned region. In addition, responsible for strengthening and solidifying Canon’s strategic business relationships with all dealer partners within an assigned area of responsibility. Accountable for the supervision, leadership and development of regional direct reports including Technical Sales Executives (TSE) and Solutions Sales Analysts (SSA) whose purpose is to facilitate wholesale dealer sales and support the Independent Dealer channel.


  • Communicate, manage Canon’s product strategies within assigned dealer channels and with direct reports.
  • Manage and coach direct reports toward coordination and implementation of channel sales activities
  • Leverage resources both at the dealer and Canon levels to maximize market share in assigned markets.
  • Develop “mind share” with key dealer principals and management to ensure Canon products, services and programs are implemented/utilized to their potential.
  • Develop and execute appropriate training and development plans for direct reports.
  • Develop significant relationships with key dealers and channel partners in assigned region to ensure Canon loyalty.
  • Deliver budget objectives in assigned region for wholesale sales of Business Imaging Solutions Group products and services.
  • Develop joint business plans with channel dealer partners to satisfy agreed upon goals and objectives.
  • Consult with dealer management to improve and grow dealer overall operating efficiencies.
  • Measure expense performance vs approved budgets and manage expense policy compliance issues.
  • Manage the process of implementing and launching Marketing and promotional programs
  • Communicate and implement strategic business objectives and initiatives.
  • Analyze market intelligence data and disseminate to Canon Senior Management, dealer, and the Canon field sales team
  • Implement and measure local action plans to address local competitive issues.
  • Resolve critical business issues within dealer and Canon.

Bachelor’s degree required plus min. 5 years of related Sales and Sales Management work experience.

CDIA Certification required within 9 months of hire. Network Plus certification is preferred.

Position requires extensive overnight travel, 3-4 nights/week and requires driving and air travel for company business as an essential function of the job and must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies
