Drupal Developer – George Washington University – Foggy Bottom, MD

The George Washington Department of Communications & Marketing is seeking a Drupal Developer, who will be primarily responsible for back-end development and maintenance. An active member of the Drupal community that understands the platform and committed to the success of School of Medicine and Health Sciences Drupal CMS environment.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Designing and implementing new features and functionality, establishing and guiding the website’s architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability, and maintaining all technical aspects of the Drupal CMS . Working closely with his/her supervisor web content specialist and SMHS community to ensure an effective, visually appealing, and intuitive implementation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing web systems with Drupal and other PHP -based implementations in a LAMP environment

At least three years of Drupal experience (especially D7).

Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with Drupal multisite, as well as the Drupal

Modules CTools, Views, Features, and Feature Overrides.

Experience using Drush commands, maintenance scripts, and a web-based repository such as GitHub

Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS , HTML /HTML5, CSS /CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery, and RSS technologies

Knowledge of PHP , PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of the Drupal theme layer

Very good knowledge of Apache, MySQL and the Linux Shell

Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions, with consideration for data, display, and information architecture

Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing and Maintenance)

Demonstrate some experience with Varnish, Memcache, and other site-enhancing technologies.

Worked within Acquia Cloud environment.Experience using and maintaining Acquia Search

Ability to create RSS feeds for Digital Signage

Experience debugging and analyzing sever and application performance using New Relic

Experience with Pingdom or other site monitoring service

Experience with Google Analytics, campaign management, and tagging
