Canon U.S.A.’s General Affairs division is currently seeking a new Groundskeeper to join our corporate headquarters in Melville, Long Island.
Reporting to the Sr. Facilities Specialist, and as part of a Building and Grounds Maintenance team, the Groundskeeper is responsible to maintain all outside grounds areas. Ensure that parking garages, walking trails, parking lots, and grass areas are kept in pristine condition. All entrances and paths throughout the campus must be maintained to be safe for all employees.
Clean outside areas
Empty all trash cans in garages, trails, parking areas, building perimeter
Sweep all parking garages and lots
Remove snow and clear walkways, entrances, and paths
Sand walkways and entrances
Report any damage found on the grounds (garage, curbs, etc.)
Clean all planter and flower beds of debris and weeds
Remove all debris from planted areas in courtyard
Check lawn for browning areas, dead trees or plantings and report immediately
Change sprinkler heads as necessary
Clean around pond areas
Clean reflecting pools
Clean benches and monuments
Special tasks as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Working knowledge of lawn maintenance and grounds
Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license
Reliable, timely attendance is a must
Flexibility to work varying or extended hours during inclement weather
Experience with snow removal / plowing is preferred
Experience with lawn irrigation systems and timer controls is preferred
