Instrument & Electrical Technician
The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting job opportunity available as an Instrument & Electrical Technician in Hayward, California. The site is located in Alameda County in the San Francisco Bay Area. The site, with over 50 employees, is a 24-hour/7-day operation including holidays. The Hayward Operations team is looking for a high caliber, technically capable Instrument and Electrical Technician who embraces change, adapts fast, makes decisions quickly, possesses self-confidence and leadership skills and is a lifelong learner.
This job exists to provide primarily Instrument and Electrical support to the manufacturing plants at our facility as well as limited mechanical support.
Key Responsibilities include:
Diagnosing and correcting instrument and electrical problems;
Calibrating process instruments;
Completing instrument and electrical preventative maintenance activities;
Specifying, requisitioning, and installing instrument and electrical components;
Coordinating instrument and power maintenance spare parts;
Planning prioritizing, and scheduling instrument and electrical maintenance with supervision and operation’s input;
Diagnoses and corrects process control computer hardware problems (board level)
Ideal candidate must possess in-depth instrument and electrical knowledge to diagnose and implement solutions to non-routine instrument and electrical problems on a timely basis.
Experience with security and communication equipment is not required but beneficial.
Experience with mechanical equipment troubleshooting, repair and return to operation is not required but beneficial
3 years of experience in a related field
