Junior Drupal Software Engineer
to join our web development team on campus. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in building complex Drupal websites, from content type and field creation to integrating common contributed modules, to building custom modules using PHP.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary function of this job is Drupal development – improving the installation profile in use on all of our websites. Candidates must have working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as well as some experience withPHP, MySQL and Apache.
Beyond the technical skills we are looking for someone who has strong conceptual and informational design skills, and can effectively collaborate with team members. This position actively works as part of a team of web developers, information architects, designers, and project managers in implementing web-based applications for university departments.

What We Can Offer
The starting salary for this position is $45,000 – $55,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
In addition, we provide opportunities to learn about agile product development; developing, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise level infrastructure; developing Drupal installation profiles; contributing to open source projects; and working on a high performing Drupal team. There is also the opportunity to move into a more advance level position with proven ability and skills.

Qualifications
What We Require
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR experience as outlined below can be used as a substitute for a degree on a year-for-year basis
- 1+ years of Drupal development experience
- 1+ years of PHP/MySQL development
What You’ll Need
Proficiency with GIT, Subversion (SVN) or similar source control system
Proven strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS

What We’d Like You to Have
Experience with:
- Integrating data feeds (XML, JSON, RSS, REST/SOAP etc.) into applications
- Scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Memcache/APC/Varnish and other caching tools
Extra Credit if you:
- Have contributed to open source projects (especially Drupal)
- Are familiar with other Content Management Systems (WordPress, Joomla, Sharepoint, etc)
- Are familiar with the changes coming in Drupal 8 or Backdrop
