Rotating Equipment Mechanical Technician


Pittsburg, California

. This position will be performing the Maintenance role in the Global Maintenance Work Process with the primary focus on mechanical rotating equipment.

The Rotating Equipment Mechanical Technician overhauls, repairs, and performs advanced troubleshooting on industrial rotating equipment. Work is performed on reciprocating compressors, various types of blowers, centrifugal pumps, centrifugal compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating mechanical equipment.The Equipment Mechanical Technician will have training and experience similar to a journeyman millwright, although welding skills are not required for this position.

Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.

Be able to perform task wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: respirators, protective clothing, face masks, goggles, boots, etc.

Be able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, and have strong reading comprehension and listening skills.

Be able to understand, analyze, and resolve technical problems in work area.

Have a desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations.


1 years experience working in a chemical-manufacturing environment

3 years Mechanical equipment repair work

1-2 years experience working in a millwright/Journeyman or related role

Must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, wearing safety gear, and working in confined areas.

This is a day job. Conventional (5 days a week 8 hours a day) schedule.

Alternating Friday Off schedule is available.

Overtime and call-outs will be required after-hours (nights, weekends and holidays), depending on work to be done.

Minimum High School diploma or GED

A two-year technical degree is a plus.

Journeyman certification is a plus.
