Position Overview:
Canon USA’s Legal Division seeks a Senior Counsel level transactional attorney, with technology contract and privacy expertise.

Manage the process with regards to licensing and technology contracts, privacy, data security and technology law and practice; this includes utilitzing knowledge of U.S. privacy laws including emerging trends in various states and international data protection laws.

Draft and implement privacy policies and advise on privacy issues that arise in contract negotiations, using a working knowledge of online, mobile and other emerging technologies and its effect on privacy and security.

Draft and negotiate technology and cloud computing agreements including SaaS and software licensing agreements.

Assist with other commercial transactions as they arise.

JD with membership in NY Bar; CIPP certification a plus.

Must have 5+ years of relevant legal experience in technology, licensing, privacy and data security.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Able to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and manage numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
