Support CSO in identifying novel product opportunities enabled by the integration of Intrexon’s continually expanding portfolio of technology platforms.
Work with members of the Technology Analysis and Licensing Team and Intrexon operating divisions to identify and evaluate technology platforms for acquisition.
Provide business development support to all sectors (Health, Food, Energy, Environment, and Consumer).
Support Intrexon’s Academic Alliances activities both by identifying and mapping research programs that can be accelerated by working with Key Opinion Leaders.
Design and support proof of concept work plan development for Intrexon-enabled new products and platforms.
Liaise with operating divisions to align on technology development goals.
Engage across organization to bridge gaps between technical requirements and commercial objectives.
Search primary literature, patent, and internet based resources to gather, assess and contribute synthesis on microbial platforms with high potential for synergy or disruptive capability.
Evaluate relevant markets, weighing in on competitive intelligence issues.
Access biopharmaceutical databases for queries and downloads of key products, technologies, and personnel information.
Analyze and interpret search results based on specific initiatives.
Prepare briefings, white papers, tables, and presentations relating relevant research information.
Generate broad spectrum opportunity maps where analysis requires comprehensive depiction of identifiable facets.
Maintain and monitor diverse (yet germane) up-to-date RSS information feeds.
Categorize, catalog and update databases relating to ongoing initiatives.
Work in partnership with other Intrexon divisions to support technology transfer.
Enter and annotate reports, literature and data in secure databases.
Work on assignments independently that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Ph.D. in microbiology preferred, or a related field with a demonstrated first-hand understanding of microbial genomics.
Minimum of five (5)+ years of post-doctoral and industry experience.
Exposure to software design and/or business disciplines a plus.
Previous database entry and/or management preferred.
Blend of scientific and business academic coursework preferred.
Experience in biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs including EndNote.
Strong written, oral, and graphical schematic communication skills.
Exceptional analytical skills and impeccable business ethics.
Broad biotechnology knowledge base kept to a current and conversant level.
Familiarity with research and scientific literature databases (PubMed, Medtrack, Patent Lens).
Planning, organization and execution skills.
