Canon Information and Imaging Solutions, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Software Intern to work with the Medical Solutions Development software team working on a new medical devices in the areas of DNA analysis, molecular diagnostics, eye-care, dental office applications. Due to the diverse range of applications, the Medical Solutions Team will consider a wide variety of candidates from undergraduate software developers to graduate student researchers.
The candidate will work with engineers to help analyze issues, help with medical device software development, investigate new tools, and create tools to analyze device performance data.
Pursuit of Computer Science, Biomedical, or EE degree with experience using C, C++, and/or C#
Exposure to and understanding of one or more of the following is highly desired: Software development, Embedded linux development, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, Image Processing
Strong mathematical skills, User Interface design and usability
Analytical and disciplined engineering approach to solving problems
Good oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to rapidly learn new technologies and apply them in creating proof-of-concept prototypes.
