Position Overview:
Canon, U. S. A. is currently seeking a Specialist, of Diversity & Inclusion to join our HR Division in our corporate office in Melville, NY.

Responsibilities:
Supports Canon’s diversity and inclusion outreach programs.

Build external diversity brand by participating and coordinating diversity activities and events.

Creates tools and materials to support practices and behaviors that align with Canon’s diversity and inclusion strategy.

Develops comprehensive D&I education plans, establishes a brand for diversity, shares best practices and works with Organizational Development to design initiatives that help Canon managers develop, energize and engage under-represented gender and ethnic groups and differently-abled employees.

Works with the Legal team and business stakeholders across Canon Americas to ensure consistent direction, messaging and synergy across business units.

Develop relations and apply creative approaches to conducting outreach, and establishing external contacts to support the recruitment of diverse candidates.

Partner with recruiters to design and implement strategies to attract, hire, and retain a diverse workforce.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.

Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resource Management, preferably with emphasis on Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.

Outstanding thought leadership and passion for diversity and inclusion, demonstrated track record of support for diversity and inclusion issues in multiple environments, including product development.

Excellent project management, analytical, organizational, and communication (oral and written) skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and proactively, while balancing a variety of priorities and workloads.

Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
