Sr. Manager Learning & Systems Support

Job Summary

The Learning Systems and Support Sr. Manager/Project Manager works with internal users, vendors, and the IT department to create and optimize software systems and web-based solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The position includes evaluating technology, information, and business processes and matching appropriate technology solutions to those business needs. They will identify, plan, develop, implement, and maintain solutions that support operational needs, primarily regarding training support. The manager will provide technical consultation to internal end-users, write detailed descriptions of user needs, write and manage project plans, and identify steps required to develop or modify business systems, translate requirements into business, and partner with IT and outside vendors to translate functional requirements into design specifications.


  • Ensure continuous operation of the Learning Management System (LMS) to serve the learning needs of all Suddenlink employees.
  • Optimize the LMS by designing solutions that leverage the full functionality and capability of the system.
  • Work closely with the Corporate, Technical and Customer Care training teams to perform needs analysis for learning systems and support.
  • Engage in testing, publishing, and managing of training content, information, and reporting.
  • Create, manage, and enforce LMS system standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Design and deliver training sessions on L&D systems as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate LMS upgrades as required system maintenance updates, security updates, LMS database maintenance, system backups.
  • Design reports and processes to monitor learner activity, engagement, success, trends, and other metrics as needed.
  • Participate in the quality assurance process to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all information and data residing in the LMS.
  • Provide online and offline LMS documentation changes as a result of LMS functionality enhancements.
  • Work with IT to manage integration and data transfer of the LMS with other enterprise applications such as HR, Finance and network security.
  • Engage in project management to deliver and deploy L&D systems and support projects, including projects related to RFPs for new or replacement learning systems.
  • Design, build, and manage solutions to broadcast learning initiatives and engage participants in easy enrollment, development planning, and transcript review.
  • Work with trainers to ensure that efficient processes are in place to support their role in delivering quality learning events.
  • Manage the RFP, selection, integration, and deployment of the e-learning library.
  • Design solutions that increase user and trainer engagement and satisfaction with all learning systems.
  • Design solutions and engage in support of all technology solutions for learning communications, such as training portal development and deployment, the use of web technologies for learning communications and the use of broadcasts, RSS feeds, and social technologies designed to communicate learning initiatives and engage employees in learning and development solutions.
  • Manage the scheduling, communication, and support of all leadership development learning events.
  • Manage the inventory, budget, and printing of all leadership development materials.
  • Support the selection, deployment, and use of learning support systems such as DiSC and 360 assessments.
  • Manages and directs a team of professionals to include instructional designers, LMS Administrators and trainers.
  • Review effectiveness of systems and processes by performing periodic user surveys, focus groups, and reporting to recalibrate processes and systems as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Minimum of a BS degree in Information Technology, Organizational Development, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing the technology systems that support a learning organization.
  • Experience designing processes for efficient workflows or engagement in process improvement strategies for streamlining workflows.
  • Experience in vendor management and project management.
  • Experience in leading people, managing performance, and engaging in employee development.
  • Strong knowledge of e-learning content development software, Sharepoint, web technologies, Learning Management Systems, Cornerstone On Demand and other technology solutions designed to support employee communications and engagement in learning.
  • Strong competency in critical thinking and information analysis.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of AICC and SCORM standards and implementation are a plus.
