Canon U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a Sr. Specialist to join our Advanced Business Analytics and Data Management team. This team will be responsible for working closely with Canon’s Marketing, Sales, and Business Development divisions to drive growth, provide business insights, and develop data driven strategies. In this role, you will be expected to understand business objectives and provide clear and meaningful action plans to senior business management.
In addition to new business development, you will support existing business teams with advanced analytics and building actionable dashboards. As a Sr. Specialist, you will also be a champion of analytics within the company. You will use your expertise to build and expand Business Intelligence (BI) and analytical thinking through coaching, training, and collaborating with others in the organization to maximize insights and actions.
Successful candidates will have prior experience in creating analytical reporting and working with multiple data sources. Adaptability and creative thinking are critical as you will need to leverage internal and external data to solve business challenges. This role requires presentation of data to senior management and you should feel comfortable presenting your findings to both smaller and larger audiences. Experience of working in a team environment and demonstrated teamwork capabilities are required. The ideal candidate is creative, motivated, and a strong communicator.
Support the effective usage of BI for existing day-to-day business operations and the development of new business areas and opportunities.
Proactively determine best methods to gather data and solve complex problems. An ability to model data to help solve business objectives and give clarity to make effective business decisions.
Ongoing collaboration with various business units and support teams to analyze and understand BI requests.
Extract meaning from large data sets using dashboards, visualizations, and complex reporting solutions utilizing SAP Business Objects, Tableau, or other applicable tools. An ability to learn other analytical tools to explore and enhance reporting capabilities and output.
Build and expand knowledge of BI and analytical thinking through Coaching, Training, and Collaborating with other BI Users and Leaders.
Identify and evaluate new data sets and analytic tools to be included in the overall BI solution.
Document and communicate status of projects and initiatives to senior team members.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years in business analysis, proactively modeling, and identifying new business development and opportunities for senior management.
Knowledge of SAP Business Objects, Tableau, R, SAS, Python, SQL or forecasting models is strongly preferred.
Strong skills in problem solving and logic with a passion for data and a curiosity to find the story. Demonstrated ability to manipulate large data sets from multiple sources.
Ability to collaborate with different division and department individuals, listen to various stakeholders, and align common threads of objectives.
Ability to work independently, pursuing new business development and opportunities, reviewing and collaborating with senior leadership.
High level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact and engage with a diverse group (executives, managers, and subject matter experts).
