Position Overview:

Performs in-house troubleshooting to determine problems with functioning and non-functioning off lease equipment. Inspects, diagnoses, triages, dismantles, adjusts, repairs, cleans, replaces parts, assembles and refurbishes equipment according to repair/refurbishment standard operating procedures and product and service manuals. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform quality check. Provides technical support to repair contractors. May also preform firmware updates and hard drive cleansing or replacements. Assists in researching and updating the refurbishment SOP for process or technology changes. Works on assignments that are semi routine in nature and serves as a technical resource for Level I when additional or supporting knowledge or judgment is needed to deviate from the refurbishment SOP on non-standard issues that affect equipment appearance, performance or functionality.


  • Services, repairs and refurbishes designated off lease equipment to Canon standards and specifications and refurbishment SOP’s, providing efficient and responsive service to customers.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, triages off lease equipment to be used in various equipment second life company initiatives.
  • Generates second life revenue by repairing designated equipment.
  • Assists in researching and updating the refrubsi8hment SOP for process or technology changes,
  • Serves as a technical resource for Level I
  • Maintains all technical information and Canon property assigned.
  • Prepares reports and other data for the department to ensure accurate information and recordkeeping.
  • Communicates with supervisor, and other departments as needed, regarding the solution of technical and/or customer service related problem areas.
  • Communicates with and provides technical support

    to repair contractors.


  • Equivalent high school degree, plus additional broad specialized technical training equal to two years’ college.
  • Over two years of practical experience in a service repair environment.
  • Has Canon iR and iR ADV certification or equivalent.
  • Capable of accessing E-Support platform.
  • Working knowledge of computer platforms, general application software and networking environments.
  • Capable of performing basic devise network installation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative work team environment.
  • Demonstrates a positive internal and external work attitude.
  • Has more than 2 years of related experience and has obtained Canon Ir and iR ADV Product Servicing Certifications
  • Demonstrated good customer service skills and abilities.
