M. Block & Sons, Inc. is a prominent growing wholesale distributor of consumer products, distributing to major channels of retail businesses. We currently have an opening for a Web Content Specialist to work in our Corporate Offices in Bedford Park, IL.

• Manage development processes of M. Block internal and external web sites.
• Work with various departments (Sales, Marketing, Purchase, Customer Service, IT, Operations) to gather data, implement initiatives, train staff, and other duties related to the internet and e-commerce.
• Improve the design and look and feel of current and existing sites, and utilize proven merchandising and usability strategies to make website engaging, easy to use, and effective.
• Ensure requests for content changes, deletions or additions are properly authorized, and that information needed by one department is not deleted at the order of another.
• Hands-on development of site content including image procurement/preparation.
• Develop and implement traffic building strategies.
• Provide support for other internal web enabled systems.
• Ensure compatibility with all Internet browsers and mobile devices.

Desired Background, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Must have 2 year of SQL, HTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript
• Strong knowledge of graphics software such as PhotoShop.
• Experience with Web initiatives such as RSS feeds, Meta data, search engines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
• Two years web development/maintenance experience with selling websites.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Adept at professional communications (oral and written).
• Self-motivated and able to multitask.
