Web Content Manager

Job Summary:
Energetic self-starter to p
erform the day to day operational tasks of the internal enterprise portal, works with customers to resolve issues, and proactively manages the growth and continuity of the site.

Duties (Listed in order of importance with the estimated amount of time spent at each task):

  • Design and implement enterprise web content in SharePoint environments based on user and business needs using native SharePoint capabilities (lists, libraries, web part pages), content editor tools and front end code
  • Combine SharePoint skills with content management abilities (including metadata, search engine optimization and dynamic content techniques) to develop innovative solutions for content presentation, including copy, multimedia, and workflow
  • Identify out of date content and work with customers to transition legacy web sites to the enterprise portal; make updates as needed; document communications
  • Consult with all levels of staff members on the creation, design and enhancement of SharePoint collaboration sites
  • Work closely with user experience team to incorporate user research findings
  • Work with Service Manager to identify areas for content and process improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in related field (English, information management, Web management)
  • Familiarity with HTML5/JavaScript/CSS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (can explain complex technical Web processes to non-technical customers)
  • Experience with Web content management systems (SharePoint 2010 or better a big plus), digital asset management, and best practices for search engine optimization
  • Web usability standards and best practices

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of practical experience working in website management
  • Display and use of interactive technology and new media (video, graphics, RSS feeds, etc.)
  • Experience with requirements gathering and documentation
  • Experience using web analytics reports to find patterns and make improvements
  • Standards for accessibility and 508 compliance
