Description/Requirements:
Must have a strong background in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience in website management and design. Other web-based programming languages such as PHP, SQL, JAVA, Flash and Cold Fusion is preferred, but not required. Knowledge and hands-on expertise with internet based tools and technologies, such as content management systems and e-commerce are preferred. Ability to work with designers, writers, staff and other content providers to determine the design, navigation and site usability. Assist with social networking initiatives to ensure the website is maintained timely. Possess ability to troubleshoot in-house internet, email, and phone connectivity problems. Basic computer and software troubleshooting skills are useful.
Reports To: Director, IT Services

Responsibilities:

  • Convert documents to HTML or other web-based programming language
  • Perform testing and quality assurance for web sites and applications
  • Provide technical support on the integration of the web with AMS and other third party applications
  • Responsible for maintaining the e-commerce setup, configuration and security.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity
  • Excellent communication (interpersonal, written, oral) with great organization skills
  • Ensure layout elements are designed with an established purpose and integrates with other components
  • Maintain site navigation strategy that takes into consideration the member and customer environment
  • Work to assist staff to implement and maintain a social media strategy and support technical aspects
  • Research and recommend standards for browser support by site and ensure compatibility
  • Monitor web statistics and traffic reports to determine most commonly accessed pages and content.
  • Develops e-newsletters from production to delivery as needed
  • Creates interactive web content (ex: Interactive Chapter Map, History, RSS Feed)

Customer Care:

  • Provide web site updates and CMS training to stakeholders (Staff/Chapter Administrators)
  • Provide technical support & training on help desk requests for all clients as needed
  • Respond to general webmaster inquiries
  • Vendor: bug/Issue reporting/tracking & HUG Forum news check

Internal Relationships:

  • Has frequent contact with all departments in conjunction with website and content management

External Relationships:

  • Has contact with outside vendors relating to the web site and content management in addition to members and chapters in reference to web site maintenance and updates.

Independent Action:
Duties are generally prioritized, allowing incumbent to perform independently, with intermittent supervision, in conformance with written instructions, established schedules, and pre-determined priorities. Problems not clearly defined by written directives or instructions are reviewed with supervisor to determine course of action.

Additional duties to include but not be exclusive to:

  • Special projects assigned by senior management
