How to Create a FlexJobs Resume Profile

FlexJobs members have a wealth of benefits: access to hundreds of flexible jobs, a scam-free job search experience, discounted career coaching, and special members-only deals.

Not only does our service hand-screen and categorize jobs for you, but we also provide you with tools to more easily find jobs and stand out to employers.

Your FlexJobs resume profile is a key piece to your job search. Here’s how to create a FlexJobs profile.

Creating a FlexJobs Resume Profile

My Dashboard” is the spot to create a resume profile. Once you click on the “Resume Profile” tab at the top of the page, and then “Create a New Profile,” you’ll be on your way. FlexJobs has created a video to help walk you through the following steps.

You’ll first be asked to write a profile title. This is a required field that is the first thing an employer will see. Use the 80 characters to create a compelling title that will make employers want to view your profile. Reviewing some of the resume titles that helped FlexJobs members get hired can serve as inspiration.

Clicking on the “Create Profile” button will take you to the profile editor. This is where you can add a photo; fill out your summary, experience, education, skills, and more; upload your resume; and select what type of flexibility, jobs, and schedule you’re looking for. Each section has a Tips button that provides you with guidance and ideas on what to include.

We also offer skills testing, where we have over 170 free tests that can show employers that you have the skills listed on your resume. It’s a great way to stand out to a potential employer. Any tests that you score a 70% or more will be highlighted on your FlexJobs Resume Profile.

On the left side of the screen, you’ll see “My Job Search: Basics.” This section has required fields to make your profile active (more about that below).

In this section, you’ll select your job categories, career level, education level, and more. Filling out this section will create the “Jobs of Interest” area in your FlexJobs dashboard. Tweaking these selections will either send you a narrow or wide selection of jobs.

Activating Your FlexJobs Resume Profile

When you first create your resume profile, it will be set as inactive. A convenient pop-up notification will alert you to all the required fields you need to fill out to make it active.

Activating your profile will allow employers to see it and allow you to apply for jobs on the site. On your resume profile, look for the toggle bar at the top. Clicking on the bar will change it to green.

If you have filled out all of the required information to activate your profile, the Active button will be green and you’ll be ready to job search and be discovered by great flexible employers
