The role
The Marketing Operations Specialist works with the Director of Marketing and the broader organization to develop streamlined content marketing distribution strategies, champion and protect brand voice and image across all digital channels and serve as a trusted advisor for digital audience engagement.
As Marketing Operations Manager you will:

Grow and cultivate audiences across diverse digital channels, including social media.

Champion and defend the Deseret News and Church News brand vision across digital channels. Ensures voice, brand look and feel across visual media is maintained in all content distribution.

Lead out in research for additional distribution channels and create innovative marketing strategies to acquire and engage with new and existing users. Detects emerging trends in the digital space and disseminates findings with the organization.

Pursue and develop media outreach partnerships to brand-aligned journalists, bloggers, producers, directors and hosts, etc.

Guide the creation, execution, and measurement of marketing strategies and tactics that contribute to the Deseret News and Church News vision which includes, but is not limited to: user acquisition, social media, influencer marketing and community engagement.

Manage the digital distribution publishing calendar for the Deseret News and Church News brands, working closely with Marketing and Content teams to ensure timely and effective content delivery.

Work closely with the Product Development team to streamline content distribution across multiple digital channels, including implementation and execution of RSS feeds, site-to-channel sharing capabilities, and UTM tracking.

Train interns and staff members on posting and distribution strategies.

Educate the organization on industry best practices. Ensures the adoption of relevant digital media techniques into the company’s culture, products, and services.

Monitor brand competitor developments. Provide recommendations to surpass competitors by developing additional strategies.

Establish KPIs for success to inform key stakeholders on reach, voice, and revenue. Generate and automate reports on distribution channel KPIs.

Develop and implement techniques to measure voice and influence for the Deseret News and Church News. Collect data and communicate learnings to stakeholders.
You’re a good fit if you:

Exhibit strong knowledge and understanding of digital media platforms and marketing tools.

Translate strategic initiatives into action, ensuring deadlines are met.

Have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications

Possess 2+ years of interactive marketing experience, with proven expertise at developing and implementing strategic plans.

Have experience generating and executing large-scale marketing campaigns across platforms with a track record of growing audiences and delivering on engagement metrics.

Are an advocate and thought leader for new technologies and innovation that will help drive the overall marketing/business direction.

Exhibit the ability to analyze data and provide clear, strategic recommendations for creative and marketing decisions.

Possess experience in managing and directing a team, while practicing superior time and project management.

Can perform in a high pressure, fast paced work environment
