Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, the FlexJobs community!
With 2020 on the near horizon, it’s great to take a step back and think about all the great things we have to be thankful for. What better time to do that than Thanksgiving 2019?
As a company, we are first and foremost thankful for all of our employees, members, and our growing community of professionals who continue to help support us and spread our message of extending work flexibility to all.
Individually, we’re thankful for any number of things large and small. Here are the responses some of the FlexJobs team gave when asked, “What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?”
What the FlexJobs Team Is Thankful for This Thanksgiving
“This past year brought some major challenges and losses, but it also brought a lot of joy and growth. I’m thankful to be surrounded by my loving family, to have a job that allows me to nurture and care for them, and for all the blessings and opportunities I have been given.” —Stephanie G.
“This year I’m especially thankful for having a flexible schedule. When something comes up out of the blue, like a pet having an allergic reaction in the middle of the night, or a leaking ceiling, or a child coming home sick from school (and those were just things that happened this week!), I know I have the control over my work schedule to make adjustments and do what needs to be done. Instead of feeling added anxiety over whether or how I’ll manage everything, I can take a deep breath and change things up as needed.” —Brie R.
“This year I’m thankful I started a daily gratitude practice. Every day at 5:30 p.m. I set an alarm that reminds me to be grateful, so I stop what I’m doing and think of one thing I am grateful for. Life can be stressful and chaotic, and this has helped me recognize how truly lucky I am to have my health and the family, friends, and coworkers I do to really make every day a gift!” —Toni F.
“This year I am thankful to be a part of the FlexJobs team. I have found a supportive tribe who wants to see me grow professionally and care about me personally. I don’t think of work as family, but it’s a wonderful feeling to know I’m genuinely cared for and respected by my coworkers.” —Rachel P.
“This year I am thankful for new opportunities and the dream of a bright future. Having the opportunity to return to work in a more organized and full-time manner has brought tremendous reward and joy to me and added great benefit to my family. Being able to provide for my family, for professional self, and for my future dreams is a gift I treasure every day. Thank you, FlexJobs.” —Tracy C.
“I’m thankful that we were able to grow our family with Titan, a miniature Australian shepherd. If I wasn’t working from home, my commute would have been an hour each way, which would not have been fair for him.” —Betsy A.
