This position is based in our Franklin, TN office.
Key Result Areas:
Develops enhancements to our entire stack, including our server configurations and our internal CMS.
Develops integration with social media, third-party APIs, RSS feeds, or any other form of communication with external systems.
Debugs current issues and develops solutions for them.
Migrates and/or archives assets, potentially across varying storage mediums (images & other static media).
Migrates and/or archives data, potentially across varying persistance layers (databases, caches, etc.).
Develops automation tools.
Optimizes server usage and infrastructure to minimize costs and improve HTTP response time.
Assist with Tourism Solutions and Client Solutions projects as needed.
Ethical Policy Compliance
Ensure you are familiar with and understand our Ethical Policy and how it may impact your dealings with 3rd parties/partners.
Ensure partners and potential partners who fall within the high risk category understand the Lonely Planet Ethical Policy requirements.
Work with the General Manager, Global Operations to ensure appropriate research and due diligence is undertaken to determine whether high risk partners you deal with are compliant before products are manufactured, services contracted and performed and events held.
Proactively dealing with issues arising and act as a conduit between the Ethical steering team and the 3rd party.

Key Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Qualifications / Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
2 years experience in web development.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Develop “bullet proof” code and maintain a strong track record of bug-free code.
Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms — preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Familiarity with social media development / integration.
Ability to learn new technologies (languages, frameworks, etc.) quickly.
Python / Django
SQL — preferably PostgreSQL
