The Corporate Manager of Online Content develops, implements, and evaluates the company’s online presence to meet organizational goals and objectives through the enhancement of marketing and communications efforts and increasing brand awareness on all of the company’s websites, key social media sites, and blogs.

Essential Activities and Tasks

Online Content Production and Management

  • Designs promotions, email newsletters, and online outreach campaigns for all of the company’s retirement communities and for Senior Independence.
  • Executes social marketing campaigns to market the organization’s community-building and new concept efforts and promotions.
  • Writes original, creative content across all online mediums to develop increased, purposeful engagement and responsiveness from readers.
  • Frequently participates in online conversations that surround content and brand and promptly and appropriately responds to posted comments.

Company Website

  • Responsible for writing, editing, and proofreading company website content.
  • Tags and titles content with an understanding of how the words chosen impact natural search traffic and rankings via recurrent optimized content.
  • Creates new website pages and adds photos and other enhancements, as requested, while maintaining website standards.

Social Media

  • Regularly posts on and contributes to social media websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other websites.
  • Creates content for feeds and snippets on various social media sites.
  • Researches and identifies opportunities that will promote growth on social media.
  • Uses creative means to drive strong engagement and organize growth of all social media channels.
  • Recommends and applies social media best practices, techniques, tools, processes, websites, and applications as part of the social media mix and to improve overall results and efficiency.
  • Establishes new and maintains existing social media relationships by proactively engaging in discussions surrounding posted content and the organization’s products, services, and brands.
  • Monitors all social media outlets (i.e. websites, posts, blogs, etc.) on a daily basis and posts/responds to topics or posts/comments made on our published content.


  • Blogs regularly and on multiple sites while building blog traffic.
  • Follows key bloggers, Facebookers, Twitterers, etc. of interest and classifies them based on content, visibility, and credibility, then tracks trends and prepares analysis.

Press Releases

  • Prepares news releases and media advisories and distributes to media outlets as requested.


  • Manages RSS feeds and bookmarking.

OnlineRelationship Management

  • Conveys a sense of community and builds a following based on valuable content and mutual sharing.
  • Develops the voice for all aspects of the organization’s online presence.
  • Represents the organization online as a relationship facilitator and conduit of information to the online reader community, members of the media, and monitoring media.
  • Establishes and sustains effective relationships with individuals and groups to aid in building effective media relations.
  • Researches and identifies opportunities to enhance online activities that engage more readers.

Strategic Planning and Reporting

  • Develops and implements goals for online marketing and communications across the organization working with multiple locations and departments so a variety of daily content can be shared.
  • Maintains regular communication with all company locations to gain insight on their needs for posting events and sharing content about the location.
  • Develops content and promotional ideas calendar for the locations and consistently meets deadlines in presenting and deploying the content.
  • Analyzes social media campaigns and translates anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising them.
  • Provides oversight and reporting of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and other internet analytics.

Operations Management

  • Maintains an appropriate schedule for updating content and researching trends in social media.
  • Delivers meaningful and provoking content
  • Manages and updates multiple Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Flickr profiles and accounts for the company locations.
  • Designs and customizes new social media profiles and accounts.
  • Provides education on overall social media industry landscape, best practices, useful tools, and social community awareness.
  • Works closely with the IS Department to ensure that the company website is being fully leveraged for maximum impact and results.
  • Identifies threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company brand and reports it to appropriate parties.

All other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.


  • Three years experience managing content and production for a high traffic website.
  • Experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, and/or blogs supporting social media campaigns that engage audience members for a professional organization required.
  • Demonstrated ability to write captivating content for a variety of audiences across a variety of mediums required.
  • Knowledge of basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices and keyword research required.
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML required.
  • Knowledge of and desire to be aware of new media with regards to social media and other communication channels required.
  • Knowledge of basic public relations and/or marketing principles and methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several projects and constituencies simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the internet required.
  • Proficiency with graphic design programs (Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite) required.
  • Proficiency with a content management system required.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
