1700503 Description Dow AgroSciences has an exciting job opportunity in the Marker Assisted Breeding Laboratory as a DNA Extraction Technician in Indianapolis, IN . The Marker Assisted Breeding lab interfaces with field stations and partner laboratories across the world to provide DNA based analytical support for the seeds business. The team’s efforts are critical for the advancement of materials through the Variety Development Program and incorporating value added traits into DAS germplasm. The scope of impact spans across 9 different crop platforms and requires high levels of collaborative project support as well as consultation. The team has contributed to the successful launch of several seed products including SmartStax Corn, Refuge Advanced Corn, PowerCore Corn, Widestrike 3 Cotton, Healthy Oils in Canola and Sunflower as well as many new trait packages, including Enlist, that are critical to our commercial product longevity. Our team is proud of our high throughput automation systems that allow us to meet the ambitious growth goals of our company. We maintain a state of the art DNA extraction facility and were the first industry-based laboratory to miniaturize genotyping in a 1536 well format. Incumbent-Specific Responsibilities

Summary of Position Requirements The MABL DNA Extraction sub-group is currently recruiting an enthusiastic Molecular Biology Technician to support nucleic acid research. Qualified candidates will be required to use technical and analytical skills to apply molecular biology techniques with a strong concentration on nucleic acid extraction using a variety of automation tools in a high throughput setting. Additionally, the candidates will be instrumental in development and implementation of new technologies to accelerate the use of high throughput nucleic acid extraction for molecular analysis.
