Human Resources (Organizational Development &Training) Intern job – Relief International – Washington, DC


Job Description

Position Summary:
The HR (Organizational Development and Training) Intern will support the Human Resources – Organizational Development and Training Unit by performing administration and data analysis functions for the RI Academy. This internship will provide the Intern with experience in the five aspects of training; assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation and provide experience managing a learning-content management system.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Intern will be responsible for staff registration, enrollment and account closures in the Learning Management System (LMS).

They will ensure the LMS roster is accurate by ensuring these processes are completed within a week of hire or separation from RI and by consulting with HR Managers world-wide.

They will be responsible for the production and analysis of progress reports.

Conduct data analysis and present outcomes.

He/she will research NGO related training opportunities, maintain the RI Academy Event Calendar, and other duties as assigned for the duration of the internship.

Monitor the social network in learning management system and devise strategies for facilitating participation.

The Intern will create certificates and correspond with HR partners world-wide as needed.

Help with special projects as needed. Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements:
Undergraduate and Graduate students will be considered (prefer candidates working towards a degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Adult Education or Training, Research and Analysis or an equivalent study)

Analytical and methodical. Must be an independent thinker, creative and not hesitant to suggest challenges, solutions or pose questions.

High proficiency in Excel, understanding of databases and capable of adapting to complex applications/computer programs. Prefer someone with Visual Basic.

Knowledge of how online social networking sites and RSS feeds enable development of community groups.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Second language desired. (Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, or other relevant languages)

Familiarization with distance learning delivery systems (Blackboard Collaborate, NetD, and WordPress preferred).

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks for completion in a timely manner and with attention to detail.

Dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.

20-30 hours a week; M-F varied schedule

Additional Information

Relocation is not offered.

Salary: Unpaid, monthly transportation stipend and academic credit available
