Website and Mobile App Content Manager

The Content Manager is responsible for continuously delivering fresh, relevant, compelling content to the Scritch audience. This person will manage content syndication from a variety of external sources ensuring the user experience in each content category is exceptional. The entire process from content selection (by category), review, edit, and publication is in the purview of this manager, as is the general quality of the user experience as it relates to content.

The manager will use an Admin Tool to review and publish. This person will also monitor site analytics and user feedback, and be proactive in improving the content experience from this data.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with demonstrable program management and writing skills. An entrepreneurial spirit, desire to grow and develop in a startup environment, and willingness to step outside of the job description to make Scritch successful are essential to success. An expert in content optimization and brand consistency are desired. Responsibilities

  • Develop content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets
  • Execute strategy by ensuring a high volume of fresh, relevant, compelling content is available to be curated and published
  • Edit select content as needed for content and SEO optimization
  • Edit, proofread and improve writers posts
  • Liaise with content writers to ensure brand consistency
  • Use content management systems to analyze website traffic and users engagement metrics to improve user experience through a test and learn
  • Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms to increase web traffic
  • Ensure compliance with the law (e.g. copyright and data protection)
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audiences attention

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Content Manager
  • Hands on experience with MS Office and WordPress
  • Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing
  • Basic technical knowledge of RSS feeds
  • Basic technical knowledge of content curation tools
  • Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Excellent writing skills in English
  • Attention to detail
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • BSc degree in Journalism, Marketing or relevant field
