Responsibilities:
The Seed Sales Representative will work daily to promote PhytoGen cottonseed and Mycogen corn and soybeans with growers and retailers to gain support and increase market share and volume annually. The representative will be responsible for developing long lasting and trusting relationships with these customers by communicating the value of each of our varieties, hybrids and traits offered by PhytoGen cottonseed and Mycogen corn and soybeans.
Achieve annual sales plan and market share expectations for both PhytoGen and Mycogen
Professionally conduct meetings, sales calls and field days with growers and/or in support of your retail partners.
Develop a deep understanding of your territory so that you can communicate needs to your marketing colleagues for appropriate tactics and programs that would fit your area
Develop and monitor territory budgets, control expenses and provide accurate and timely sales forecasts
Work in close coordination with your seed retailers and fellow PhytoGen and Mycogen team members
Facilitate the planting, harvesting and recording of plots in a timely manner for use in future sales collateral
Effectively and proactively manage service calls and/or objections from growers and retailers
Communicate regularly with your retail partners and growers keeping them abreast of new products, product advancements, promotions, feedback from other customers, etc
Manage orders to inventory, control returns and quickly handle/reconcile replants and transfers with retailers and growers
Maintain company vehicle and records properly.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Perform other duties as required
Conduct all activities with a high level of professionalism and represent PhytoGen cottonseed, Mycogen corn and soybeans and Dow AgroSciences each day in a manner that is respectful and would reflect positively on our company.
Assigned Territory:
The sales representative will be required to live in the assigned territory which includes extreme northeast Arkansas with additional counties in the boot hill of Missouri.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Experience effectively demonstrating self motivation, initiative, assertiveness and results orientation.
Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced changing environment.
Previous experience successfully working in teams.
Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft office especially, Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Microsoft Outlook).
Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment.
If necessary, the ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds (a bag of seed) is required.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. – based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of agriculture sales experience within the seed and/or ag chemical industry is preferred.
Education:
Bachelors’ degree is required. Relevant disciplines: agronomy, agriculture, business, biology or related sciences.
