Job Summary

The Social Marketing Manager will be the marketing/editorial voice of the Priority Club Rewards (PCR) Online Community website and is responsible for creating, building and maintaining the PCR online community and PCR blog. Responsible for formulating and managing the loyalty platform’s social marketing community growth as well as implementing and integrating new programs strategies and ideas. Must also be knowledgeable about on-line marketing trends, analytics, current events, particularly in blogs, social networks and viral marketing. The successful candidate must have excellent English verbal/written and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment. The Online Community Manager will work with the Global Consumer Marketing management team to establish PCR Online Community as a market leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Focus on the Priority Club Rewards loyalty program brand in the social marketing community environment.
  • Provide an editorial voice of the PCR Private Online Community by managing all content elements of website including overall presentation, graphics, digital media, features and written content.
  • Develop and grow website community through facilitation of forums, surveys, message boards and galleries.
  • Liaison with other internal stakeholders (regional and global) and explore opportunities for social networking on other corporate sponsored sites. Interact with others via blogs, forums, posts and other participation.
  • Manage relationships with viral marketing agencies and the influence to network and prioritization of the content to guarantee optimization.
  • Manage projects that involve multiple groups within the company and deliver the projects based on deadlines and corporate objectives.
  • Track and maintain links of all articles, editorials, review and quotes related to PCR Online Community.
  • Update content on the corporate community site, internal customer communication programs, print and multimedia presentation tools.
  • Measure success using industry standard metrics and update management team regularly on analytics.
  • Manage feature development, learning agenda, calendars and quality of site.
  • Monitor social marketing industry trends.



Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.


Six plus years of progressive work-related experience in marketing, advertising, and/or hotel industry experience related to sales and/or brand marketing, with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position. Two plus years experience launching and/or moderating online forums and/or Loyalty Program and/or Interactive Marketing experience (SEO, SEM, internet, or advertising and two plus years experience of consumer based research analysis.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale marketing projects from conception through implementation and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present data-driven recommendations successfully, promote items persuasively, and shape the opinions of others. Strong email, chart writing and editorial skills a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple brand process management, including research methodology and design (basic measurement and statistics). Loyalty and Marketing/ branding experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles and concepts.
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving ability and demonstrated creative thinking skills as evidenced by prior campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent, high quality customer-focused orientation, to include clear, accurate information, explaining procedures or materials or providing supplemental information; anticipating problems or questions.
  • Demonstrated appreciation and understanding of consumer and intermediaries and ability to develop consumer understanding based on research and existing trends.
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving and analytical skills for the purpose of evaluating marketing data and trends and resolving issues with marketing programs and/or implementation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the relevant labor market, economic conditions, and industry trends, and ability to analyze these factors and draw logical conclusions.
  • Extreme interest and involvement with online communities demonstrated by active and verifiable engagement in communities and forums for at least 2 years.
  • Outgoing personality and ability to interact with users. Comfortable working in a highly distributed team.
  • Familiar and or active participant in virtual worlds and online games.
  • Experience in using RSS feeds, HTML, chat/IM, Skype, Word Press, Blogger, Bloglines, You Tube, My Space, Friendster, Flicker and more.
