Summer Marketing Intern job – New Benefits – Dallas, TX


The Summer Marketing Intern shadows our Director of Marketing and Marketing team to understand how to work within a professional/corporate setting. The Summer Marketing Intern will be expected to focus on administrative Marketing tasks such as updating design files, organization of marketing materials, and other similar functions in their day-to-day working. The Summer Marketing Intern possesses excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, and attention to detail. He/she will be more exposed to multiple areas of the Marketing arena; and have the opportunity to become more business-oriented through their experiences. The Summer Marketing Intern is enthusiastic about the challenges of the job and is motivated by a genuine interest in working in a professional setting and gaining real-world experience.

Actively pursuing a college degree (Business Administration or Marketing preferred)

Proficiency in both the English and Spanish languages

Ability to perform under tight deadlines

Excellent organizational skills/ability to manage details

Ability to understand and carry out assignments, working independently or as part of a team

Ability to recognize problems and identify correct solutions

Strong written and communication skills

Computer Skills: Windows Environment, strong MS Office skills, Internet

Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds

Must be able to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours, and function in a environment with interruptions

Job-Specific Competencies

Gain a strong understanding of the business and the Marketing Department

Translate all marketing language from English to Spanish (including mobile application language)

Image Organization-Review all purchased images and organize into specific folders so they are easier to find and access

Update design files (name files correctly, and update to the company’s new brand font)

Review RSS feeds and remove duplicate information

Audit all Marketing materials for each New Benefits brand and most popular client materials

Ensure information is up-to-date and utilizes the correct URL, etc.

Audit all Marketing statistics and find more up-to-date numbers

Review current studies and pull relevant statistics to use in marketing materials

Assist with planning various business activities and brainstorm ways to make them more efficient

Communicate with all levels of the company and take appropriate action based on the business need

Assist with special projects such as converting hard copy documents and files to electronic versions

Operate with integrity and follow through on all assigned tasks to completion.
