Vizrt Designer, Creative Services

The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Vizrt Designer for our Creative Services Team at our Headquarters office in Springfield, VA. MBN is a non-profit grantee of the federal government that directly communicates with the people of the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio, and digital media. MBN’s mission is to provide objective, accurate, and relevant news and information to the people of the Middle East about the region, the world, and the United States in support of U.S. public diplomacy.

The Vizrt Designer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing Vizrt functionality for all MBN broadcasts.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Vizrt Designer include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing all the VizRT scenes into editable templates that could be filled, and edited by the journalists.
• Constructing main VIZ-Concepts Tree for Real-Time graphics.
• Developing Viz-Transition Logic database Scenes-Tree for Real-Time graphics.
• Developing control template/s for any type of VIZRT scenes based on Transition Logic.
• Integrating Social data into VizRT design scenes including Viz Social or Never.no.
• Creating and implementing control concepts for the VIZ Shows, in Trio/Director/VCP Studios and OB Vans.
• Building data driven visual scenes such as Graphs, pie charts, bar charts, election maps, competition data, Sports, Social Media Analytics, and integrating VizRT scenes with any type of live data feed such as Reuters feeds, xml , axles , RSS feeds, text , Jason .etc.
• Acquiring and filtering data to VIZ engines “On Air Graphics /Virtual /Augmented Reality”
• Translating Data to visual Interactive graphics solutions (Visual Actions /Visual Reactions).
• Supervising and integrating Touchscreens with VizRT thorough building an interactive graphics stages, wedges, and interfaces.
• Developing original and custom VizRT Scripts for any type of event to control real-time graphics.
• Lead the creation of the graphics programming pipeline for applications, plugins, and backend database servers.
• Create custom plugins for wireless controllers via VCP/UDP protocols.
• Create database architectures that can store data for markets, weather, election results, social media, etc.
• Dealing with special events which needs to be translated to visual content, ‘Crises, Elections, Specials, etc…’
• Designing, animating, and helping with the design process in VizRT Designer (On-Air, VR, AR).
• Optimizing VizRT scenes to meet the best render quality, fastest performance, and functionality.

Candidates are required to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer programming or BA degree and equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of Vizrt broadcast news experience.
• Complex hands-on experience with all Vizrt operations and capabilities.
• Ability to use Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator), and 3D software (3d Max, Cinema 4D, or Maya).
• Demonstrated written and verbal Arabic and English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under extreme deadlines and pressure.
• Ability to work creatively and collaboratively with producers, engineering and production staff.
• Ability to support a 24×7 broadcast news environment.
