Responsible for the development and management of websites and web applications from concept to production to enhance the adoption of online services, membership acquisition, loan conversion and overall online banking experience. Develops, maintains and operates company-wide Intranet used to store department information, directories, branch details, legal documents, forms and other critical data required to keep internal operations running smoothly.


Ensures that websites are innovative, functional, responsive (mobile compatible), and that content remains accurate, compliant, and conveys the proper marketing messages of the credit union. Performs robust and maintainable coding tasks to integrate website APIs with back-end systems, databases and web-services.


This position writes all the code for back-end and front-end web environments using ColdFusion, Bootstrap HTML framework, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Google Maps API, PHP, ASP.NET, MVC frameworks, and database architecture for Oracle and MySQL. The ability to work with existing websites, content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager & WordPress), create new websites, and integrate enhancements, plug-ins, social media and other APIs is a must.


This position will work with a team of website developers and coders to ensure the throughput of incoming projects are completed successfully and on-time. Each developer is held to high standards of clean code and that all digital collateral is consistent with credit union messaging standards, compliance and strategic goals.

Responsible for development and maintenance of websites, web applications, and integrated web APIs

  • Organize the necessary skills to develop and deploy the credit unions member facing website (americafirst.com), web forms, calculators, online membership/loan application, and other web collateral.
  • Evaluate the necessary requirements for third-party hosted micro-sites and web services. Building and deploying any approved sites that meet the technology service provider requirements.
  • Create and adhere to sustainable technical programming methodologies and frameworks for engineering solutions to web-based development needs and problems.
  • Build web applications and back-end database architecture using various programming and scripting languages.
  • Analyzes web user experiences using A/B tests, multi-variant testing, analytics and developer tools that give insight on conversion campaigns and improving overall visitor experience.
  • Conduct regular website audits to ensure content accuracy, within compliance, and broken links are updated.
  • Follow website content protocol with departmental updates, changes, and additions.
  • Ensure web pages, forms, and applications are regularly reviewed for security threats, cross-site scripting attacks, and SQL injections.

  • Work with a highly engaged developer team in supporting all aspects of the credit union

  • Collaborate with development team on creating modern web-based technical standards for specific web sites and web applications for the purpose of enhancing the overall digital user experience.
  • Researches emerging web technologies to utilize, such as development tools, UI development trends, languages, and plug-ins, based on company’s strategic objectives.
  • Meets with product and engineering personnel on priority projects, scopes of work, and forecasting resource requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Assisting senior web developers with creating wireframes and specifications to communicate the overall direction and vision for new digital experiences.
  • Share day-to-day duties with other developers in the maintenance of all web experiences, forms, and pages.
  • Support the Marketing department and product developers when executing promotions and campaigns to ensure content accuracy, readability, and on-time deployment.

  • Ensures the production of all phase of web development from concept to production deployment

  • Create web service prototypes and functional specifications for web sites, web applications, and APIs.
  • Ensure strict testing protocols of all digital collateral.
  • Author complex website pages and dynamic elements.
  • Write development procedures, document project tasks and back-up development assets with SVN.
  • Accepts direction and gathers feedback from respective departments and content staff on web site elements, server side integrations, analytics, search engine optimization and related web technology.
  • Utilize third-party tools to analyze problems as assigned, and provides structured solutions.

  • Understands the overall web development environment for credit union products and services

  • Work with Product Management, Marketing, and other relevant departments to build user experiences consistent with credit union brand guidelines.
  • Inform management of website enhancements and opportunities.
  • Identify web pain points, broken links, error pages, and follow strict protocol to resolve issues.
  • Be willing and able to perform duties at any location, including from home, meetings, conferences, or vender locations and will be given the necessary equipment.
  • Able to implement SaaS solutions across web channels and utilize Cloud tools.

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrable experience required.

    Required Knowledge and Experience

    • Expert understanding of HTML 5 frameworks, CSS 3, JavaScript and responsive design
    • 1 – 3 years of Adobe ColdFusion coding experience (or proven understanding)
    • Front-end and back-end development experience
    • Proven web-form development, including mapping to Oracle or MySQL databases
    • Clear understanding of setting up website and server structure
    • Past experience working within an agency setting such as collaborating with business development, project managers, graphic designers, instructional designers etc., is preferable.


    High proficiency with the following:

    • Adobe ColdFusion 10+, PHP 5.4, ASP.NET or related server-side technology
    • Setup and configuration of ColdFusion 10+ and Apache 2.2+
    • Past experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe CQ, Adobe Analytics a plus
    • HTML 5, CSS 3, AJAX, MVC Frameworks (Model Glue, CFWheels, FW/1), JSON, JavaScript and jQuery
    • Responsive website development, including proven experience within HTML and JavaScript frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap 3.0+, Foundation 5.0+, jQuery or AngularJS.

    • Perform thorough quality assurance on applications; including but not limited to Unit Testing


    Proficiency with the following:

    • Google Analytics; including goal setting, reports, custom widgets, experiments and dashboards
    • Google Search Console (webmaster tools); ability to diagnose issues, generate XML sitemaps, track spider activity and maintain overall website heath
    • Google Custom Search Engine (CSE); integration of CSE across web platforms and company websites
    • Search Engine Optimization (SEO); a knowledge of keyword analysis and targeting for better visibility in organic search engine results
    • Adobe Marketing Cloud (Target, Analytics, AEM/CQ); setup of Target A/B tests, multi-variant testing, debugging, and analyzing results
    • Adobe Create Cloud; extensive experience with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat DC, Flash, and Media Encoder
    • Knowledge of slicing a Photoshop PSD and use the assets to properly render a web page
