The Web Technology Analyst is responsible for assisting and providing technical support in the updating and maintenance of all things web related at the Ohio Automobile Club (OAC). The position will be the primary technical contact for requests and projects on the Intranet web Site (OACIS) as well be play a pivotal role on the Extranet site (ohio.aaa.com). The key objective is to assist the business lines in providing information to all OAC associates. The Web Technology Analyst will also be responsible for additional software systems as assigned by the Application Services Manager.

What you’ll do as a Web Technology Analyst:

  • Assist the business line owners in the design and placement of product and promotional content on OACIS. This includes the creation of new functionality, as well as, any minor customization in the look-and-feel of their web pages.
  • Design and develop portal content and applications that integrate with other enterprise systems and third party products.
  • Assist in upgrades to the OACIS web site, including implementation of new products and participation in testing of all links and features.
  • Support and implement modifications to OAC’s Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) utilizing WSO2 software for new product enhancements for the Travel Syndicated Technology (TST) Web site.
  • Develop, code, install, test, debug and document Web application features using appropriate editors.
  • Co-ordinate and manage the editorial and quality assurance process with content creators, such as writers, Web designers, and so on.
  • Find, diagnose, and fix content problems, including broken links (internal and external), typographical errors, and formatting inconsistencies.
  • Assist in the uploading of content into RSS feeds and podcasts.
  • Utilize the help desk software to track customer issues on software products.
  • Update job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Keep current with emerging technologies by pursuing certifications in your area of expertise that support company strategic goals. Continued annual progress toward agreed upon Certifications is expected.
  • Maintain confidentiality of member and associate records and data.
  • Support additional IT projects as time allows.
  • Other duties as assigned including assisting IT Management as required.

What we’re looking for in a Web Technology Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information system, or computer graphics, preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience with web page design, development, analytic tools, and corresponding software.
  • Certifications from Microsoft or IBM, web languages such as: JavaScript, HTML, ASP, ADO, SQL, Java, .Net programming. Also tools such as: Visual InterDev, Photoshop, and/or Flash are a plus.
  • Familiarity and experience with Sharepoint, API’s and Web 2.0+ applications.
  • Exposure to SQL, MySQL, or other databases.
  • Ability to understand company goals and objectives.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
  • Friendly, optimistic and outgoing personality who derives satisfaction from assisting others with an ability to translate technical information into layman’s terms.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities in order to recommend solutions and work them through to resolution.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Clean driving record (must have no more than 4 points to be considered for this position).
  • Must be age 21 due to insurance purposes.

Work Conditions:

  • Additional working hours as required.
  • On call as required 24x7x365.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Some travel may be required.
