Hiram College invites applications for the staff position of Website Administrator (WA) reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.

Hiram College, established in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, is a nationally respected private residential liberal arts college located 30 miles from Cleveland in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio. At Hiram, close student-faculty interaction and innovation is routine. The College’s distinctive academic calendar, the Hiram Plan, offers students the opportunity each semester for a 3-week intensive course, study abroad/away program, internship or research experience. It is with great excitement that Hiram is rebranding with the New Liberal Arts, Tech and Trek, and five new schools wherein all the majors are housed. It is an exciting time to be a Hiram Terrier!

The WA provides oversight to the official College website (www.hiram.edu) in order to position Hiram College as a highly favorable choice in the higher education landscape. This position is responsible for ensuring that the College website reflects the proper content, infrastructure, programming, navigation, brand standards and style in a way that is engaging, informative and interactive. The Website Administrator also helps to develop items of focus on the site including: campus videos, blog sites, news sites, etc. Additionally, technical support duties pertaining to the website, email programs, and third-party integrated services will be routine.

This position works closely with the Executive Director and other College Relations team members to collaborate on digital communications/marketing needs and execution. The WA also works in collaboration with the VP of Enrollment and the President’s office to create HTML email correspondence through their Content Management System.

This position requires three or more years of professional experience in communication, computer science or related field required. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in communications or a related field is required. A robust understanding of marketing and design is essential. An ideal candidate will possess an advanced knowledge of HTML, XHTML, PHP, phpMyAdmin, cPanel, CSS and experience with popular content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.; experience with SEO and Google Analytics and SiteImprove; and user experience design, with demonstrated proficiency in website editing and design, responsive and modern website design, responsive HTML email design (table-based), RSS feeds, BitBucket, SmartGit, Brackets (or other code editors), JavaScript and jQuery, and file management.
